For the past six months, Dmitry has been comparing 7 different types of asphalt shingles, and roofing tools against each other and rating their performance in the categories of online reputation, weight, granule loss, price, and nailing zone. As the last video in this series, Dmitry Lipinskiy, Founder and CEO of Roofing Insights, decides who has the “Best Shingles in 2019”. Competitors were rated based on three keys factors: quality of the shingles, feedback from installers, and online brand reputation. Roofing marketing was not a factor.

In respect to all the big players in the game, Dmitry has divided all competitors into two categories: Tier I and Tier II. Tier I can be thought of as the premium brands with high quality products and large fan bases. Products in Tier II may have issues with quality, installers, or reputation. The results are as follows:

TIER 1: Atlas, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, & Malarkey

TIER 2: PABCO, IKO, TAMKO, & BP
